Days 15 – 21 (Project 365)

Day 21 – April 29, 2014

Kimba

This is my other kitty.  She has the sweetest personality ever, and sleeps at my side every night.  She loves to go outside, but hates it when other cats come around.  She’s not the friendliest playmate when someone else is on her territory.  She hisses and wails up a storm if they ever get close to her.  She was sitting under the bench this morning, all alert because there is a big black and white kitty that keeps coming a-calling and she doesn’t like him…lol  Perfect time to grab the camera and shoot her up-close whilst she is distracted !!

Day 19 – April 27, 2014

Liquid Amber

I love the way this liquid amber leaf glows with light. It would make a great black and white, but I have some other shots that I may revert to black and white.

Yucca

The Yuccas are in full bloom out in the desert.  This beautiful one was shot in the Cajon Pass near the Mormon Rocks.

Day 17 – April 25, 2014

City & State Please ….

My photo of the day comes from the very interesting and fun Route 66 Museum in Victorville, CA.  Having worked for Verizon for 10 years in directory assistance, it was very apropos that I make this photo my daily challenge photo

Day 16 – April 24, 2014

Mimosa Leaves

My dad planted this mimosa tree in my backyard a few years back, and it is finally beginning to get some height to it.  I love the leaves and the lines they create, whether shot in the shade or sun – they are always interesting.

Day 15 – April 23, 2014

Glass PaperWeight

My mother-in-law purchased this glass paperweight for me many years ago, and I have always loved it.  The colors and design running through it are simply beautiful.  I don’t know who the artist is as there was a small sticker with the name underneath the glass, but it has since fallen off.  I am sure if I pick my mother-in-laws brain she may remember the who, where and whys she bought it for me.  Well I know the whys – she knows what I like.  Anyway, as I was putting some stuff away yesterday, I came across it and thought it would make a perfect photo for my daily challenge.  I took it outside to shoot it, and the sun was pretty bright.  I shot on manual and used my macro filters.  I had to take a few photographs to find the one I liked best.  Overall, I am happy with this shot and that is all that ultimately matters 🙂
